System Compatibility
Worried that the iWave-R won't work with your current HVAC system? Don't be.
This system can treat the air in any brand of residential duct air conditioning systems up to six tons, or 2400 CFM in size. Its universal mounting system also makes it a cinch to install, and it comes together in just minutes.
You can position the iWave-R inside or outside of your duct. Or, you can attach it magnetically near the indoor fan in the air handler. There are three common mounting options:
- Fan Inlet Mount
With this mount, internal magnets will hold the unit to the fan inlet on the shaft side. If you go this route, you'll need to make sure that the iWave-R is safeguarded against fan vibration. Short-length, self-tapping screws are best and will not impair the fan's operation.
- Inside Wall/Cabinet Mount
With this mount, internal magnets will hold the unit to the wall duct. Or, they can hold it to the air handler metal panel.
- External Duct Mount
If you want to mount the system externally, you can cut or drill a 3-inch hold in the duct to install it. Then, use two self-tapping screws to hold the unit to the duct.
Note that the iWave-R is designed for this type of installation. A flush, external duct mount install is optional in most cases.
Operating the System
Once you're ready to get it up and running, we've included detailed instructions on how to connect all of the components of the iWave-R safely and effectively.
The system will mount after your particle filter and before the indoor coil. This helps control pathogens and odors through the full depth of the coil, as well as within the breathing space.
When everything is connected, you can sit back, relax, and breathe more easily.
The sophisticated iWave technology is always optimized, working at peak performance to produce more than 160 million ions/cc per polarity for a total of 320 million total ions/cc. That goes beyond the capacity of any other air ionizer on the market.
Maintenance and Upkeep
As mentioned, the iWave-R doesn't require any maintenance. It features a patent-pending self-cleaning design that takes care of all of the legwork for you.
You can program the cleaning cycle according to your needs and schedule. There are options to clean the emitter brushes on four different cycles, including:
- Every day
- Every three days
- Every five days
- Every 10 days
Unless you customize the settings, the iWave-R is factory-set to clean every three days. This is appropriate for a typical installation, though you're free to adjust the settings.
